Conquering IC. Changing lives.
To obtain early diagnosis and optimal care with dignity for people affected by interstitial cystitis (IC). The Interstitial Cystitis Association (ICA) is dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare and lives of people living with IC.
Who They Are:
The ICA was established in 1984 to put a face on all those affected by IC and remains today as the only non-profit charitable organization solely dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare and lives of people living with IC.
What They Do:
The Interstitial Cystitis Association (ICA) advocates for research dedicated to discovery of a cure and better treatments, raises awareness, and serves as a central hub for the healthcare providers, researchers and millions of patients who suffer with constant urinary urgency and frequency and extreme bladder pain called IC. ICA disseminates current information, advocates, provides support, and offers hope to the millions of people with IC, as well as the researchers and healthcare providers who strive to improve their quality of life. Over the years, ICA has been successful at getting IC recognized as a real physical problem, as well as putting IC in the vocabulary of urologists and other healthcare providers. ICA has also secured dedicated funding for IC research in the budget of the National Institutes of Health, as well as funding its own research.
