A St. Joseph lawmaker is supporting a compromise proposal to monitor prescription drugs in order to preserve a provision for patient privacy.

Sen. Dr. Rob Schaaf, R-St. Joseph, said his bill to establish a prescription drug monitoring program was merged into another senator’s proposal, which has made it to the Senate floor. Lawmakers are currently on a one-week break from business at the Capitol.
