The American Migraine Foundation is a non-profit foundation supported by the American Headache Society® and generous donors dedicated to the advancement of migraine research. The mission of the American Migraine Foundation is to support innovative research and education that will lead to improvement in the lives of those who suffer from migraines and other disabling headaches.

What They Do:

Information for Residents & Fellows

In the field of migraine research, residencies and fellowships are highly renowned and sought after. The AMF supports opportunities that will help future migraine leaders prepare for success in their field of practice. The Headache Medicine specialty is currently participating in ERAS and MRMP.

Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)

The Headache Medicine specialty is now participating in ERAS. This is a July Application Cycle specialty. Applicants may begin applying and programs begin receiving applications starting July 15th. Visit the ERAS website for more information and to see the current list of participating centers.

National Resident Match Program (NRMP)

The Headache Medicine specialty is now participating in NRMP.

  • Applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency program in specialties including but not limited to neurology, internal medicine, pediatrics, child neurology, family medicine, anesthesiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, psychiatry, or obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Headache Medicine fellowships are one year in length unless specified otherwise by the program.
